This gosling started hatching upside down. I turned it upright and assisted in peeling away the shell over its beak. This photo shows the top of its head and beak on the right. I'm hoping it will finish on its own. I would appreciate any guidance!

I bet by the time I post this it will be out!
Looks like a good strong gosling breaking out.
They tend to give a great push and burst out.
Remember, 24 hours from pip is perfect and some go longer.
Put a wet a piece clean sponge in the corner the bator to keep the humidity up.
The temp may fluctuate due to the hatch-if it goes up a degree or two don't worry
Make sure the membrane stays a little most if it goes longer than you are comfortable with
You can put a damp white paper towel over loosely over the opening.

You can tear a little of the membrane/shell off and if it bleeds the yolk is not fully absorbed
and the gosling may not hatch for a few more hours. Try to let it hatch on it's own
Keep the temp and humidity up
They need to absorb the yolk and breathe to mature their tiny lungs, otherwise
you can have a weak pneumonia prone gosling-not good
Let it dry off in the bator and then transfer it to a brooder
I use a small plastic tote lined with towels and put a heating pad in it
on medium upright on one side
I cover the gosling with a soft cloth, like the mothers wing
Good luck and keep us posted!
